The permanent resident halls there are crowded with the elderly, two to a room with a tiny shared bathroom between 4 elderly people. (One housekeeper "touches up" the bathrooms once a day.) Only some of the rooms have windows, there are minimal activities for the residents, and they only have basic cable on their TV's. Only 2 head nurses and way too many training nurses assistants who always seemed to be too busy chatting amongst themselves about weekend plans to help the residents. I've seen residents in tears, with no service for hours.

Klamath Falls is a fairy small town and you would think the care would be excellent but this is not the case in this facility. The elderly who are placed here are constantly lonely and being ignored and this poses a problem to their health and the health of those around them, especially when someone in an infecious room is being ignored. We chose Rogue River Place because it is a smaller facility so it is less overwhelming for my mom. I also feel like she gets more personalized care and she has an easier time getting around. Residents have a lot of opportunity to get out of their rooms and get out and about whether they want to or not.
